Trump: ‘Without America, There Would Be No Israel’

United States President Donald Trump has claimed that Israel’s existence and survival have largely depended on the support of the United States, saying that “without America, there would be no Israel.”

Trump made the statement on Tuesday, June 16, while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France.

The US president said Washington has played a decisive role in supporting Israel over the years, arguing that previous American administrations did not take the same approach he adopted during his time in office.

“We’ve had a very effective relationship. Without the United States, there would be no Israel. Without me, there would be no Israel, because no other president was willing to do what I did,” Trump said.

While discussing ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Trump also criticised the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement negotiated during the administration of former President Barack Obama, arguing that the deal contributed to the current regional instability.

Trump said the United States’ relationship with Israel has remained strong but added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must exercise greater caution regarding Lebanon.

The US president also spoke about Lebanon’s decline, describing it as a country that once had a strong reputation for education, medicine and professional excellence.

“Lebanon used to be a great country with professors, doctors and lawyers,” Trump said, adding that the presence and influence of Hezbollah has become one of the country’s major challenges.

“The great intellect was in Lebanon. Now it’s just terrible. They can’t defend themselves,” he added.

Trump further stated that Lebanon has suffered significantly compared with other countries in the region, describing it as one of the nations most affected by ongoing geopolitical tensions.

His comments come amid heightened concerns over escalating conflicts and diplomatic tensions in the Middle East, with world leaders continuing discussions on regional security, military actions and possible pathways toward stability.
