‘She Can’t Fight Me And Win’ – Kuami Eugene Finally Speaks Out on Fallout With Former House Help Mary
Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene has opened up about his past relationship with his former house help, Mary, detailing the support he says he provided and expressing disappointment over how things ended between them.
Speaking in an interview with Headless YouTuber, the award-winning singer said he had always planned for Mary to eventually move out and build her own life as she grew older.
“I called her some time ago, and I told her, we are the same age, and you’re a woman, you’re growing up. It will get to a time you need to leave here because you’re growing up, and when you leave, this is what I can do for you,” Kuami Eugene said.
The musician revealed that he had intended to support Mary with some of his properties when she eventually left his home, but said the breakdown in their relationship has changed that decision.
“Maybe some of the properties I have that she thought one day I could give her when she was leaving, but I won’t do that now because we are on bad terms,” he stated.
Kuami Eugene also claimed he helped Mary start her shito business by providing both the idea and financial support.
“The shito she was selling, I gave her the idea. For three years, I paid her every month. Anytime she was going to the village, I gave her extra money because they knew she was coming from Kuami Eugene’s house and she had to give something to her family,” he explained.
Addressing the public dispute, the singer insisted he does not view the situation as a competition.
“There’s no way she can fight me and win in any way. Grace, glory, money, property, everything. I’m ahead of her. So if I decide to fight her to the ground because of the pain she’s causing me now, then after that, what again? Because just a single call would have shut her down for good,” he said.
Despite the tensions, Kuami Eugene maintained that he still cares about Mary and would assist her if she needed help in the future.
“At the end of the day, if she is in trouble and I have the help, I will still give her that help,” he added.
Background to the Dispute
In 2023, Mary alleged that she experienced difficulties while working for the musician. She claimed that after being sent to deliver a package, she became disoriented and later faced issues with her employment arrangement.
Following her departure from Kuami Eugene’s home, Mary made several allegations during media interviews, including claims that she had been mistreated and occasionally deprived of food.
Her mother also alleged that Mary returned home with a serious health condition that later left her hospitalized.
The matter generated widespread public debate, with supporters of both sides sharing differing views on the controversy.
Kuami Eugene’s latest comments have once again sparked discussion on social media, with some praising him for the support he says he offered, while others believe such personal matters should remain private.
