Serious Drama At GTB Bank As Man Creates Huge Scene After ¢41K Got Missing From His Account

A dramatic confrontation has unfolded at a Guaranty Trust Bank branch on CMD Road after a customer refused to leave the banking hall, demanding the release of ₦5 million ( approximately 41, 327) he claims the bank has withheld from him for two weeks.

The agitated customer, whose identity has not been confirmed, was filmed inside the branch creating a scene and challenging bank staff who reportedly attempted to seize his phone as he recorded the incident.

“You want to seize my phone? Madam, you want to seize my phone? If you like, call God. I’m not leaving here today until you answer me and return my 5 million naira,” he was heard saying in the footage, which has since circulated widely on social media.

According to the customer, his funds have been held by the bank for approximately two weeks without adequate explanation, prompting him to resort to a public standoff inside the branch to compel a response from officials.

The video has drawn significant engagement online, with many social media users expressing sympathy for the customer and sharing their own experiences of delayed transactions and frozen funds with various commercial banks in Nigeria.

Others called on the Central Bank of Nigeria to strengthen consumer protection mechanisms and ensure financial institutions are held accountable for prolonged and unexplained holds on customer funds.

GTB has not publicly responded to the incident at the time of publication.
