Prophetess threatens to administer 24 strokes of cane to a female church member for allegedly stealing her mother’s money

A Nigerian prophetess has come under public scrutiny after a video surfaced showing her threatening to physically punish a young girl accused of stealing from her mother.

The prophetess, who is reportedly affiliated with a Pentecostal church, said she planned to give the girl 24 strokes of the cane as a form of discipline.

“I’m going to flog her 24 times. Anytime she remember that injury, she no go get mind to thief again,” she said in the video.

The footage has since gone viral, triggering heated discussions across social media platforms.

Many people criticized the proposed punishment, arguing that it was excessive and inappropriate, especially because the incident was reportedly recorded and shared publicly.

“Why must she be videoed and posted on social media? Has the pastor herself ever videoed her sons and daughters being punished for stealing or fornicating in church and recorded and posted on social media for clout?” one commenter asked.
