Serious sexual harassment allegations have emerged at JPMorgan Chase on New York’s Wall Street. Lorna Hajdini, an executive director in the leveraged finance division, has strongly denied claims made by a 35-year-old employee, Chirayu Rana. Rana has accused her of engaging in “non-consensual and humiliating sex acts.”

Rana filed a lawsuit in the New York County Supreme Court under the pseudonym ‘John Doe’. He made serious allegations against Hajdini, claiming she sexually abused him, drugged him with Rohypnol and Viagra, and threatened to cut his year-end bonus if he did not comply.

According to reports by the Daily Mail, based on a now-retracted court document, Hajdini allegedly came to Rana’s apartment without notice and forced him into sexual acts.

However, Hajdini has strongly denied all claims through her lawyers. “Lorna categorically denies the allegations. She never engaged in any inappropriate conduct with this individual of any kind and has never even been to the location where the alleged sexual assault supposedly took place,” her lawyers told the New York Post.

Allegations of Abuse and Threats

Rana claimed the alleged incidents began in spring 2024, when Hajdini started making inappropriate advances. The lawsuit also mentions claims of racial remarks, including calling him “my little brown boy.”

The complaint includes alleged statements such as: “You’re gonna need to earn it, my little Arab boy toy”,  “You really think [management]… want some Brown boy Indian leading Originations?… If you don’t f*** my brains out tonight, I’m going to sabotage your promotion”,  “I’m going to ruin you, I f***ing own you.”

Claims Remain Unproven

The allegations have not been proven and are strongly disputed. People familiar with the matter told the New York Post that Hajdini did not directly supervise Rana and had no authority over his job. “She has tarnished her with a complete fabrication,” said one of Hajdini’s friends.

Rana also claimed that the company took action against him after he raised the issue. He said he was reprimanded, locked out of company systems, and placed on involuntary leave.

JPMorgan Denies Allegations After Probe

JPMorgan Chase has denied the allegations. A spokesperson said that an internal investigation by HR and legal teams found no evidence to support Rana’s claims. The investigation reviewed phone records and emails but did not find anything that backed the allegations.

“Following an investigation, we don’t believe there’s any merit to these claims,” the spokesperson said. The company also stated that the complainant did not fully cooperate in the investigation, while others involved did.

Employee’s Current Status

A colleague described Rana as “socially awkward” but said he met the requirements to continue working at the bank. He is now working as a principal at Bregal Sagemount, a New York-based investment firm led by Goldman Sachs alumnus Gene Yoon.
