Why Did TPUSA Slam Vivian Kubrick? The Social Media Row Explained

Turning Point USA did not hold back this week after Vivian Kubrick, daughter of the late Hollywood legend Stanley Kubrick, took to social media to attack the conservative organisation and its new leader Erika Kirk.

What Did Vivian Kubrick Say?

Kubrick went on X to criticise a pre-recorded video message from Erika Kirk, who addressed TPUSA supporters about faith and her husband’s legacy at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, as part of the organisation’s “Make Heaven Crowded” tour.

Kubrick called the address “ghastly” and “inauthentic” and went further, urging President Trump to shut TPUSA down entirely, arguing that fresh, credible young voices were needed to rally American youth ahead of the midterms.

How Did TPUSA Respond?

The organisation came out swinging. According to a report from the New York Post, a TPUSA representative questioned who Kubrick even was, noting they had to look her up, and described her as the “seemingly estranged” daughter of the famous director who had become a Scientologist and a follower of what the rep called the “Candace cult,” an apparent reference to commentator Candace Owens.

The rep went on to suggest Kubrick had been caught up in the same thinking that drives attacks on Kirk and her late husband’s legacy, before closing with a pointed remark that they were praying she would get the help she needs.

Kubrick has previously credited Scientology with saving her life during the 1990s, based on her own social media posts.

Here Is What Else You Need To Know

Erika Kirk stepped into the role of TPUSA chief executive after her husband, conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, was shot and killed by an alleged gunman at Utah Valley University on September 10 during a speaking event. Since taking over, she has been outspoken about what she describes as a growing culture of dehumanisation in America.

Her concerns took on fresh urgency after she was rushed out of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner at the Washington Hilton on April 25, when an armed man attempted to force his way into the ballroom where President Trump and several senior officials were present. The accused, Cole Tomas Allen, 31, was later charged with attempted assassination, transporting a firearm across state lines to commit a felony, and discharging a weapon during a crime of violence. It marked the third alleged assassination attempt against the president.

In a video posted to X shortly after, Kirk reflected on what prolonged dehumanisation leads to, writing that stripping someone of their humanity long enough brings people to the conclusion that others do not deserve to exist.
