FBI Gives Fresh Update on Abu Trica Extradition as Luxury Cars Are Seized

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has provided a fresh update on the case involving Ghanaian socialite Frederick Kumi, popularly known as Abu Trica, confirming that he remains in Ghana awaiting extradition to the United States.

According to the FBI, Abu Trica, who has also been identified as Emmanuel Kojo Baah Obeng, is still undergoing extradition proceedings alongside another suspect, Daniel Yussif.

The update comes as US authorities continue investigations into an alleged fraud network accused of targeting victims across the United States.

Investigators claim the group used fake online identities to gain the trust of victims before convincing them to send money through various channels.

Authorities allege that the wider operation defrauded more than 130 victims of over $15 million.

As part of the ongoing investigation, law enforcement agencies have reportedly recovered assets valued at more than $3 million.

The seized assets include a Lamborghini, a Tesla Cybertruck, a Mercedes-Benz, and a BMW, which investigators believe are connected to the alleged fraud scheme.

Court records cited by investigators indicate that Jamal “Arrangement” Abubakari, Kamal “Lancaster” Abubakari, and Amanda Joy Opoku-Boachie have been ordered detained as the legal process continues.

Meanwhile, Abu Trica and Daniel Yussif remain in Ghana while extradition proceedings are ongoing.

The investigation is being carried out through collaboration between US authorities and several Ghanaian institutions, including the Ghana Police Service, the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), the Cyber Security Authority, and the Ghana Immigration Service.

Authorities have not yet announced a final date for the extradition process.

The allegations remain before the courts, and all suspects are entitled to due process as legal proceedings continue in both Ghana and the United States.
