‘Africa will be developed; nobody will seek greener pastures abroad’ – Duncan-Williams shares bold vision

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International Ministry, has expressed hope that Africa will one day become prosperous enough for its citizens to achieve their dreams without leaving the continent in search of better opportunities.

Speaking at the 4th Inter-Parliamentary Conference on Family, Sovereignty and Values on June 3, 2026, the respected preacher said he believes Africa can develop using solutions and principles that reflect its own cultures, values, and realities.

“I have a dream that in my lifetime, Africa will be so developed by principles that work for us, not by principles that work for others, but by principles that work for us as we look at our culture and as individual sovereign countries,” he stated.

Archbishop Duncan-Williams said he envisions a future where Africans no longer feel compelled to leave their countries in search of greener pastures abroad.

According to him, African nations should create the conditions that allow their citizens to build successful and fulfilling lives within their own borders.

“No son and no daughter of the continent of Africa will queue for visas to go to other nations for greener pastures,” he said.

The renowned preacher added that young Africans should be given the opportunities needed to thrive in their home countries.

He stressed that the continent’s development should enable its people to pursue their ambitions and enjoy prosperity without relocating elsewhere.

“They should be able to work and labour in our own land and our countries and achieve their dreams and goals, fulfil their desires and destiny, succeed and prosper within their own countries and their own borders,” he added.

His remarks came during discussions on family values, sovereignty, and cultural identity in Africa.

The comments also echoed concerns raised by Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, who urged African nations to protect their cultural values and sovereignty from external influences often presented as modernisation.

Duncan-Williams’ message has since resonated with many Africans who believe the continent has the resources and potential to create opportunities for future generations at home.
