Woman Reportedly Pour Boiling Water On Her Son In Delta (Video)

A woman in Delta State has come under public criticism after allegedly pouring boiling water on her young son, reportedly as punishment for what she described as his stubborn behaviour.

The disturbing incident is said to have occurred in Agbarho community, located in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

The alleged case of child abuse was brought to public attention by human rights activist, Comrade Israel Joe, who shared details of the incident in a Facebook post on Wednesday, June 24.

According to the activist, the woman admitted to pouring hot water on the child when questioned about the circumstances surrounding the incident. She reportedly claimed that the boy’s persistent stubbornness prompted her actions.

The development has sparked widespread concern among residents and child rights advocates, with many condemning the alleged act and calling for authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly.

Comrade Joe described the incident as unacceptable and urged relevant government agencies and child protection authorities to intervene to ensure the welfare and safety of the child.

The condition of the boy was not immediately disclosed, while it remains unclear whether medical treatment was administered following the incident.

The case has reignited discussions about child discipline and the need for parents and guardians to adopt non-violent methods of correcting children. Advocates have emphasized that physical abuse, regardless of the circumstances, can leave lasting physical and emotional scars on victims.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Delta State Police Command nor relevant child welfare agencies had issued an official statement regarding the incident.

Residents and concerned members of the public have continued to call for a proper investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the alleged abuse and ensure that justice is served if the allegations are confirmed.
