Woman Jailed for Four Years Over Fatal Stabbing of 77-Year-Old Landlord

An Amsterdam court has sentenced a 31-year-old woman to four years in prison for fatally stabbing her 77-year-old former landlord.

The court also ordered Alicia R. to undergo compulsory psychiatric treatment at a TBS facility.

The incident happened inside the victim’s home on Lekstraat in Amsterdam’s Rivierenbuurt on October 14, 2025.

The landlord had rented his garden house to the Spanish woman from August 2025.

A dispute later developed over unpaid rent. Alicia left the property but returned in October to discuss the money.

During the conversation, she became angry and took a large knife from the kitchen.

She stabbed the landlord 13 times in his neck, chest and other parts of his body. Five of the wounds proved fatal.

The attack ended when she noticed neighbours looking through the window.

Alicia told the court that the landlord had requested sexual services during her stay but refused to pay her. The court said it found no proof of the alleged inappropriate behaviour.

A psychologist and psychiatrist diagnosed her with post-traumatic stress disorder and autism spectrum disorder.

The court ruled that she had significantly diminished criminal responsibility.

“The fact that the suspect cannot see or show the severity of her actions and the consequences of this will make this extra difficult for the victim’s relatives,” the court said.

The sentence matches the punishment requested by prosecutors.
