Woman Accidentally Ruins Friend’s 40th Birthday Surprise After Husband Sends Her DM

A woman has shared how she accidentally ruined her friend’s 40th birthday surprise after the woman’s husband sent her a private message asking her to call him.

According to her, she received a DM from her friend’s husband even though she did not have his phone number and rarely communicated with him.

She initially ignored the message, but when he sent another one, she replied, “I’m busy right now. I’ll call you when I’m free.”

The woman said she immediately took a screenshot of the conversation and sent it to her friend because she did not want to have a private conversation with her friend’s husband without her friend knowing.

Her friend later called and explained that her husband’s message was related to her upcoming birthday. She then asked the woman to call him, which she did.

During the call, the man reportedly explained that he had contacted her because he was planning a surprise for his wife.

He told her, “You just ruined the birthday surprise for her. I was planning a trip to Lagos to celebrate her 40th birthday.”

The revelation left the woman wondering whether she had made a mistake by informing her friend about the DM.

However, she explained that she felt it was better to tell her friend than to have a private conversation with her husband behind her back.

The incident has sparked a familiar debate about friendship, personal boundaries and keeping surprises secret, especially when someone receives an unexpected message from a friend’s spouse.

The woman ended her account by asking, “Please, how is this my fault?”
