Wizkid teases new album

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has set social media buzzing after hinting at a new album.

The Afrobeats star stirred excitement among fans after posting a brief message on his X handle.

“Album🦅,” he wrote.

Wizkid, however, did not give further details about the title, release date or direction of the anticipated project.

The teaser comes nearly two years after the release of his fifth studio album, Morayo, which was released in November 2024.

The album was dedicated to his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who died in August 2023.

In 2020, he released Made In Lagos and More Love, Less Ego in 2022.

Made In Lagos featured international and Nigerian stars including Damian Marley, Skepta, H.E.R, Ella Mai, Burna Boy, Tems and Terri.

Wizkid has also earned several local and international awards, including a Grammy Award in 2021 for his contribution to Beyoncé’s Brown Skin Girl.

In October 2024, Made In Lagos was recognised as the most-streamed Nigerian album on Apple Music.

His latest post has since triggered speculation among fans, with many anticipating another major project from the Starboy boss.
