Paul Kinanee, the elder brother of Gospel Kinanee, has recounted the emotional moment he reunited with his brother after he was discovered in a correctional facility nearly 18 years after his disappearance, describing the encounter as heartbreaking.

Paul shared the experience during an interview on Arise News, following the revelation that Gospel had allegedly been held in prison for years without an active case file. The case came to public attention after a lawyer reportedly traced and identified him while visiting the correctional facility.

Describing the reunion, Paul said the years of detention had taken a severe toll on his brother’s physical and emotional condition.

“When I got there, I saw my brother outside where he was sitting down. If you look at him, he didn’t look like human being again. He started crying.”

According to Paul, the emotional meeting marked the first time the family had seen Gospel since he disappeared nearly two decades ago. He said the family had searched for him for years without success and had gradually lost hope of ever finding him alive.

The discovery has sparked fresh concerns over prolonged detention and the administration of justice, especially in cases involving inmates allegedly held without proper documentation or active court proceedings.
