My Mother Died When I Was 13 Years Old, So They Couldn’t Take Care Of Me Like My Mother Did -Portable

Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has opened up about the painful loss of his mother and the hardship he faced growing up, revealing that her death at a young age changed the course of his life.

The singer made the emotional revelation during an interview on The Honest Bunch Podcast, where he reflected on his childhood and the impact his mother’s passing had on him. Portable explained that losing her at the age of 13 left him without the care, guidance and support he had always depended on.

Recalling the difficult period, the controversial artiste said his mother played multiple roles in ensuring he never lacked basic necessities while she was alive.

“My mother died when I was 13 years old. I had nobody to take care of me. They couldn’t take care of me the way my mother took care of me. My mother sells clothe, food, she gives me money and food to share in the area,” Portable said.

According to the singer, his mother’s generosity extended beyond their household, as she regularly gave him food and money to share with people in their neighbourhood. He noted that after her death, no one was able to provide the same level of care and affection that she had shown him throughout his childhood.
