‘We Work For Abuja Alhaji’ – Notorious Bandit Captured In Delta Forest Confesses [VIDEO]

An alleged bandit kingpin, Abubakar Usman, who was recently arrested by security operatives in Delta State, has claimed that he and other members of his gang rear cattle for an Alhaji based in Abuja.

Naijapunchnews reports that Usman was apprehended on Wednesday by operatives of the Delta State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad in collaboration with the SafeCity Security Service during a raid on a suspected criminal hideout in the Ogwashi-Uku/Adonta Forest.

The suspect was arrested after an exchange of gunfire between security personnel and the alleged kidnappers, while other members of the gang reportedly escaped into the forest.

The operation was launched following the abduction of Mrs. Blessing Chiedu, an indigene of the Umunede Kingdom, who was kidnapped on July 2, 2026, along the Ani-Ifekide Farm Road in Ubulu-Uku, Delta State.

According to human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who confirmed the arrest in a post on X, the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N100 million from the victim’s family before the police operation led to the suspect’s arrest.

A video that has since gone viral on social media captured Gwamnishu questioning the suspect shortly after he was taken into custody.

During the interview, Usman disclosed that he is a native of Niger State and claimed he travelled to Delta State, where he joined two other men allegedly involved in kidnapping activities.

He further alleged that the group operated with a pump-action shotgun and revealed that they had received about N5 million in ransom from one of their victims.

According to the suspect, the gang also works for an Alhaji based in Abuja, claiming their primary responsibility was rearing cattle, although he admitted he did not know the exact location of the man in the Federal Capital Territory.

“We are three in number. I’m from Niger State. We were using a pump-action gun. The Alhaji we are working for is in Abuja, but I don’t know exactly where he lives,” Usman said in the video.

The suspect’s claims have not been independently verified, and there is currently no official confirmation from the police linking any individual in Abuja to the alleged criminal activities.

The Delta State Police Command has yet to issue further details regarding Usman’s allegations or whether investigations are underway to identify and locate the person he claimed they worked for.

Authorities are expected to continue investigations into the kidnapping syndicate, including efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects and determine the extent of the gang’s operations in Delta State and beyond.
