Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, has stirred reactions after describing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as “the Biafra we have been looking for” during the All Progressives Congress presidential primary held on Saturday.

Speaking at the event, Umahi praised Tinubu’s leadership style and appointments, insisting that the President has shown commitment to inclusiveness and national development through strategic infrastructure projects and political representation.

“A man who has integrated the entire South East. A man who has given us juicy appointments. A man who has given us very important infrastructure,” Umahi said while defending his support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The former Ebonyi State governor stated that many people from the South-East region now feel more accommodated under Tinubu’s administration, citing federal appointments and ongoing infrastructure developments as evidence of the President’s support for the region.
