“Stop Insûlting President Tinubu; Insecurity Did Not Start Under His Administration” — Umahi

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has condemned what he described as the politicisation of insecurity in Nigeria, warning opposition figures against using security challenges to attack President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking during a public engagement, Umahi argued that insecurity did not begin under the current administration and questioned why violent incidents often appear to intensify around election periods.

The minister criticized politicians who, according to him, exploit security concerns for political gain, insisting that the country’s challenges should not be turned into partisan issues.

He suggested that individuals who sponsor or encourage violence in pursuit of power would ultimately face divine judgment.

Umahi expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, stating that members of the administration remain committed to supporting the president’s efforts to tackle insecurity and implement reforms across the country.

He maintained that Nigeria would overcome its current security difficulties and emerge stronger through the government’s ongoing initiatives.

The minister also voiced optimism that peace and stability would return, enabling the country to continue on a path of development and prosperity.

Addressing the plight of citizens held captive by criminal groups, Umahi offered prayers for kidnapped teachers, students, and other victims, expressing hope that they would regain their freedom and reunite with their families.

According to him, the present security challenges are temporary and will eventually be defeated through collective efforts, faith, and the government’s determination to restore peace across the nation.
