Sarkodie Responds to Claims Stonebwoy Was Referring to Him and Shatta Wale In His Tweet

Award-winning Ghanaian rapper Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has reacted to a viral social media post made by Bhim Nation president Stonebwoy that sparked widespread speculation among fans.

Speaking in an interview on the Afrobeats Podcast, Sarkodie said he saw the post but would rather hear directly from Stonebwoy before making any assumptions about its meaning.

The controversy began after Stonebwoy posted on X:

“These 2 guys have been faking to each other based on interests and timing. Convenient friendship. Even the devil hates that.”

The tweet quickly generated debate online, with many social media users speculating that Stonebwoy was referring to Sarkodie and Shatta Wale.

Responding to the discussions, Sarkodie said he has learned from past experiences not to rush to conclusions based on public interpretation.

“However, according to the rapper, ‘I’ve been there several times’, so, he wouldn’t hastily break a door when someone is about to open it.”

He explained that social media users often attach meanings to statements that were never intended.

“I literally posted my food and people said I was talking about the president. They connected it to politics when I was simply about to eat,” he said.

“So I don’t want to play that part where my brother says something and people immediately decide what he means”.

Sarkodie added that while many people believe the timing of the tweet points to him and Shatta Wale, he would prefer Stonebwoy to clarify the matter himself.

“Let me be honest. I would like to hear it come from him and say, ‘It is you and Shatta Wale I’m talking about,” he stated.

He acknowledged that public perception is often shaped by timing and recent events.

“If he puts out the tweet, maybe because of the timing and what we did, people are going to take it that way”.

The rapper further noted that people will always form their own conclusions regardless of the actual intention behind a post.

“No matter what you’re talking about, people are going to grab it and make their own conclusions. I haven’t had any conversation with him to really know exactly what he was talking about. I don’t want to delve into it”.

Sarkodie’s comments have added another layer to the ongoing discussion among fans, many of whom continue to debate the true meaning behind Stonebwoy’s post.

For now, neither Stonebwoy nor Sarkodie has confirmed whether the tweet was directed at any specific individuals.
