Oyo Abduction: I Volunteered To Go And Rescue The Children, But The State Government Said No- Igboho

According to Punch on Thursday, June 4, 2026, Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho, has put out a stern warning.

He said he could soon reveal the names of politicians he believes are behind the kidnapping of students in Oriire LGA, Oyo State.

Igboho claimed the kidnapping is tied to a larger political plot meant to destabilize the government.

He alleged that some people are quietly working to cause disorder and make it harder for President Bola Tinubu to govern.

He said the current tactics look a lot like what happened under former President Goodluck Jonathan, when insecurity and chaos were supposedly ramped up to undermine the leadership.

He also claimed that false news and made-up stories are being spread to scare people and chip away at trust in the government.

According to him, the goal of all this is to push supporters away from the President and spread uncertainty nationwide.

Talking about the recent kidnapping in Oyo State, Igboho said he’s very worried about the children’s safety, and warned the issue might be worse than it looks on the surface.

He also said he offered to step in and help resolve the crisis himself, but the state government blocked him from doing so.

“They are treating Tinubu the same way they treated Jonathan. Their goal is to make the country unmanageable for him. They are even spreading false information to intimidate the public and turn supporters against the President.

“Suppose the recent abduction is not a game. In Oyo, they made away with children. I volunteered to go, but the state government said No.”
