Osun Decides: FRSC deploys 2,500 personnel

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 2,500 personnel, 50 operational vehicles, seven heavy-duty tow trucks, and six ambulances ahead of the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

According to the FRSC, the deployment will cover the state’s three senatorial districts and all operational areas to ensure effective traffic management, prompt emergency response, and the strict enforcement of the Restriction/No-Movement Order.

The deployment includes 2,300 personnel from the Osun Sector Command and an additional 200 personnel drawn from the Ondo, Ekiti, Oyo, and Ogun Sector Commands.

FRSC said its personnel and operational assets have been strategically positioned to guarantee the safe movement of election officials, accredited observers, security personnel, and other authorised road users throughout the election period.

Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed stated that the deployment reflects the agency’s commitment to supporting a peaceful, safe, and credible electoral process.

He added that all personnel would carry out their duties with professionalism, neutrality, discipline, and respect for human rights while working closely with other security agencies under the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES).

The FRSC also announced that the Restriction/No-Movement Order will be strictly enforced from 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Motorists and transport operators have been advised to plan their movements ahead of time, obey all traffic directives, and avoid restricted routes during the election period.
