2027: Ex-Kwankwasiyya spokesperson launches campaign for Kano Assembly seat

A former spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya Political Movement, Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed has launched his campaign to represent Fagge Constituency at the state House of Assembly under the platform of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), in the 2027 election.

He launched the campaign with a promise to liberate the youths and women, as well as ensuring even dispensation of democratic dividends across the constituency, habouring the non-indigenous community of Sabon Gari.

Mohammed, who was a former chairman of Fagge Local Government Area, said his decision to represent people of the constituency at the state House of Assembly, was driven by his desire to right the wrongs inflicted on the people by those who failed to lift their burdens at the hallow chambers of Kano state House of Assembly.

Addressing members of his constituency during the launching of his campaign, Mohammed promised to deliver his mandate without recourse to ethnic cum religious prejudice.

He said: “My decision to seek your mandate to represent Fagge Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly is driven by one firm conviction: Fagge deserves effective representation—representation that listens, speaks courageously, works diligently and remains accountable to the people.

“For too long, many communities within Fagge have faced challenges that require stronger advocacy and more effective representation. Our young people need opportunities. Our women deserve greater economic support. Our schools require attention. Our healthcare facilities need improvement. Our traders and small businesses need an environment in which they can grow and prosper.”

He further stated that: “Fagge also deserves better infrastructure, security, sanitation and social services. These are not merely political talking points. They are the everyday realities of our people.”

Dr. Mohammed promised that of elected, the people’s concerns will become his own, “yur aspirations will become my priorities. And your mandate will remain a sacred responsibility.’

As an elected lawmaker, he promised to advocate for legislation, policies and interventions that directly improve the lives of the constituents and contribute to the development of Kano State.

He further stated that: “I will advocate for improved learning environments, skills acquisition, vocational training, digital education, scholarships and opportunities that prepare our young people for the demands of the modern economy.

“Our young people must not be regarded merely as political supporters during elections. They must be treated as partners in development.

“I will champion practical initiatives that connect our youth with entrepreneurship, technology, vocational skills, apprenticeships and employment opportunities.”

Dr. Mohammed underscored the fact that women are central to the economic and social wellbeing of the communities.

He added: “I will support initiatives that expand access to skills, small-business opportunities, cooperative development, markets and other forms of economic empowerment.

“This is an area in which I have practical experience. During my tenure as Chairman of Fagge Local Government, our women empowerment programme benefited more than 3,000 women through various home-based trades and vocational skills.”

He further promised to improve the healthcare of his constituents, develop infrastructure, ensure economic empowerment of the vulnerable people, care for the elderly, and sponsor bills that will have positive impacts on the loves of his constituents and the Kano people.
