Only In Nigeria!! Watch Moment Plane Made Emergency Landing On Major Highway Which Is Under Construction In Nigeria

A privately operated business jet has caused alarm in Delta State on Wednesday after it landed on a road under construction near Ogwashi-Uku, following a failed approach to Asaba International Airport.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) confirmed that the aircraft , a Bombardier Challenger 601 conducted a missed approach at Asaba International Airport at approximately 7:43 a.m. local time on June 10, before the crew diverted and touched down on a nearby road that is currently under construction.

Footage of the incident, which has since gone viral on social media, shows the jet stationary on the broad, sandy construction road, filmed from inside a vehicle that had come upon the extraordinary scene.

The NCAA further disclosed that the aircraft subsequently took off from the makeshift landing strip and flew back to Lagos without obtaining the required regulatory clearance — a development the authority described as a serious breach of aviation protocols.

The jet has since been grounded in Lagos pending a formal investigation, and the flight crew is currently undergoing regulatory review.

No casualties or injuries were reported in connection with the incident, and there were no confirmed reports of damage to the aircraft or the road.

Aviation safety analysts are expected to scrutinise the crew’s decision-making, particularly the unauthorised departure from the emergency landing site, which compounds what was already an extraordinary and potentially dangerous chain of events.

The NCAA had not issued further details regarding the identity of the aircraft operator or the number of passengers and crew on board at the time of publication.
