A communications aide to Lere Olayinka, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has released an old video showing Margaret Obi, wife of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi. The clip is being used to question Obi’s recent claim that there was no Office of the First Lady during his time in office.
In a widely circulated interview, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate said he abolished the First Lady’s office while serving as governor of Anambra State, as part of efforts to reduce government spending.
According to him, the decision was aimed at reducing expenditure and redirecting public funds to projects that would benefit residents directly.
