Moment K1 prostrated before Obasanjo goes viral

Fuji music star, King Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, prostrated before former President Olusegun Obasanjo during the 60th birthday celebration of the Olota of Ota, Oba Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege.

The moment happened on Thursday night in Ota, Ogun State, while K1 was performing at the royal celebration.

A video shared on Friday by k1deultimatedigitalmedia showed K1 stopping his performance when Obasanjo walked onto the stage.

The Fuji musician then went down fully on the floor to greet the former president in the traditional Yoruba way of showing respect to an elder.

Obasanjo responded by walking towards K1 and patting him on the back.

The former president later collected the microphone from the singer and addressed the guests at the event before greeting the Olota.

The traditional display of respect between Obasanjo and K1 quickly attracted attention online after the video was shared.

The celebration of the Olota’s 60th birthday attracted several dignitaries from political, traditional and entertainment circles.

The event also featured performances and other activities in honour of the monarch.
