Lecturer Cries for Mercy as He’s Being Flogged by Husband of Student Who Accused Him of Sexual Harassment

A lecturer has been captured in a viral video pleading for mercy after he was allegedly assaulted by the husband of a female student who accused him of demanding sex in exchange for approving her academic project.

According to reports circulating on social media, the lecturer is the Head of the Department of History and International Studies at Northwest University (formerly Yusuf Maitama Sule University) and also serves as a visiting lecturer at Mariam Abacha American Nigerian University (MAAUN).

The lecturer was accused of repeatedly refusing to approve the married student’s project for about two years because she allegedly declined his persistent sexual advances.

Student Reportedly Informed Husband

It was gathered that the student eventually informed her husband about the alleged harassment, after which they reportedly devised a plan to confront the lecturer.

According to accounts shared online, the lecturer allegedly arranged to meet the student shortly after Maghrib prayers, reportedly expecting a sexual encounter.

However, when he arrived at the agreed location, he allegedly met the woman’s husband and several other individuals waiting for him.

The group reportedly assaulted the lecturer before handing him over to the police.

A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, showing the lecturer pleading for mercy while being beaten.

Some social media users claimed they had seen screenshots of conversations allegedly exchanged between the lecturer and the student before the meeting. However, the authenticity of the purported chats has not been independently verified.

As of the time of filing this report, the university authorities and the police have not issued an official statement on the incident, while the allegations against the lecturer remain unproven.
