“I’m Ready To Make Changes In Aso Villa” — Dumebi Kachukwu Accepts ADC Presidential Ticket
A factional presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dumebi Kachukwu, has formally accepted his nomination to contest the 2027 presidential election, declaring that he is fully prepared to “make changes in Aso Villa.
”Kachukwu made the declaration shortly after emerging as the presidential candidate of his faction of the ADC, where he addressed party members, leaders, and supporters during the nomination event.
Speaking during his acceptance speech, the politician said his ambition was driven by the desire to fight for the “common man,” whom he described as the average Nigerian struggling under the nation’s economic and social realities.
“The question I now ask, who is the common man?” he said. “He is the average citizen, as contrasted with the socioeconomic or sociocultural elites.
”According to him, the majority of Nigerians fall into that category, adding that his political movement is centered on giving ordinary citizens a stronger voice in governance.
Kachukwu thanked members of the party leadership, including the National Working Committee, Board of Trustees, state chairmen, party faithful, and members of his family for supporting his emergence.
The ADC candidate lamented the current state of the nation, stating that Nigeria is battling deep-rooted political and economic challenges caused by years of failed leadership.
“The realities of our existence today in Nigeria are well known to us all,” he stated. “Even though our leaders have navigated us to the precipice of disaster, we can still reverse course.”
He maintained that despite the hardship faced by Nigerians, there was still hope for national recovery and transformation.
Describing Nigerians as “legends,” Kachukwu said the country’s struggles should not discourage citizens from pushing for meaningful reforms.
“I am very clear that I must be in the driver’s seat to make the changes needed in Aso Villa,” he declared.
The presidential hopeful further called for the rebuilding of Nigeria on what he described as a new national foundation rooted in equality, inclusion, and justice.
According to him, Nigeria must move beyond ethnic and regional divisions and embrace a collective national identity.
“We are not the Hausa Fulani Republic of Nigeria. We are not the Ndibu Republic of Nigeria, and neither are we the Oduzua Republic of Nigeria,” he said. “We are the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Kachukwu also advocated for the creation of what he described as a “common charter” for Nigerians, insisting that the nation must abandon colonial-era structures that continue to fuel division, mistrust, and intolerance.
He added that his administration, if elected, would focus on rebuilding the country “from the ground up” and creating a system that guarantees equal rights and opportunities for all Nigerians regardless of tribe, religion, or background, read more….
