President Bola Tinubu has acknowledged the economic hardship facing Nigerians, saying he personally understands the sacrifices citizens are making as his administration pushes ahead with reforms aimed at stabilising the country’s struggling economy.

Speaking during an address to members of the All Progressives Congress, Tinubu thanked party leaders, members of the electoral committee, and supporters across the country for standing by him despite the challenges confronting the nation.

The President admitted that the ongoing reforms have come with pain and discomfort for many Nigerians, stressing that he too has made personal sacrifices while trying to rebuild the economy.

“I shared the pain with you. I know what it takes to reform this economy that was in tatters. If you lost sleep, I lost some too. If you have lost weight, I think I have lost some too,” Tinubu stated.

He recalled how he sought the presidency in 2022 with a promise to tackle Nigeria’s deep-rooted economic and political problems, noting that he remains committed to fulfilling that responsibility despite mounting pressure.

According to him, the nation’s political landscape has changed significantly since he assumed office, but his administration remains focused on implementing policies it believes will place the country on a stronger economic path.

Tinubu also expressed appreciation to Nigerians from different walks of life for their encouragement and continued support, describing the journey as difficult but necessary for national recovery.

The President’s comments come amid growing public concerns over inflation, rising cost of living, and the impact of economic reforms introduced by the Federal Government since he took office. Read full OralGistNews on this here
