Gunmen Raid Immigration Office in Ogbomoso, Seize Weapons from Officers

According to information gathered from sources familiar with the incident, the attack occurred late on Tuesday night at approximately 10 pm, causing concern among residents and security stakeholders in the area.

During the operation, the armed men reportedly succeeded in taking away weapons belonging to the affected personnel before fleeing the scene.

A source within Ogbomoso, who preferred not to be identified due to the sensitive nature of the matter, confirmed that the attack indeed took place. 

The source disclosed that the incident has raised fresh concerns about the security situation in the area, especially given the boldness of the attackers in targeting a government security facility.

Residents living near the location were said to have been alarmed by the development, although it remains unclear whether any injuries or casualties were recorded during the attack. 

Security agencies are expected to launch investigations aimed at tracking down those responsible and recovering the stolen firearms.

The incident adds to growing concerns over attacks on security institutions and personnel in different parts of the country. 

Analysts have repeatedly warned that the theft of weapons from security agencies could pose a significant threat if such arms eventually find their way into the hands of criminal groups.
