During an interview featured on SYMFONI TV’s official YouTube channel on June 3, 2026, a leading figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, clarified that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar never viewed the party as a platform established to advance his personal political ambitions.
Okonkwo rejected suggestions that Atiku had taken over the ADC, emphasizing that the party had been in existence long before the formation of the current opposition alliance.
According to Okonkwo, Atiku understood from the outset that the party was not created specifically for him.
