Nollywood actresses Anita Joseph and Angela Okorie have engaged in a heated war of words on social media over the recent controversy involving influencer Caramel Plug and an edited photograph.
The exchange began after Caramel Plug publicly accused Anita Joseph of using one of her photos without permission and allegedly replacing Caramel’s face with her own through artificial intelligence (AI).
Following the backlash, Anita Joseph issued a public apology, blaming the incident on AI and insisting that she had no intention of becoming involved in such a controversy.
Reacting to the apology, Angela Okorie took to her Instagram page to criticize Anita, arguing that celebrities should not appropriate other people’s images or creative work.
She wrote that wrongdoing should not be excused simply because the person involved is a friend.
“What is bad is bad. Don’t condone it because it’s your friend who did it; instead, shut up. Y’all need to stop glorifying nonsense.”
Angela further questioned why a public figure would edit someone else’s photograph instead of creating original content, adding that many people spend considerable time and money developing their personal style.
