“Don’t Leave Tinubu Alone” — Kwam 1 Begs Igboho, Gani Over South-West Insecurity

The security situation in the South-West geopolitical zone has taken center stage as prominent Fuji music icons, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, widely known as Kwam 1, and Abass Akande, popularly referred to as Obesere, voiced serious concerns over the escalating wave of violence, killings, and kidnappings in the region.

The two entertainment heavyweights chose separate social media broadcasts to deliver urgent appeals, calling for immediate and multi-layered interventions to combat the criminal syndicates operating in the area.

In an emotionally charged video shared via his official Instagram page on Friday, Kwam 1 directed an explicit appeal to notable Yoruba nationalist figures, declaring, “Don’t Leave Tinubu Alone” — Kwam 1 Begs Igboho, Gani Over South-West Insecurity.

The veteran musician insisted that protecting the region from the current wave of violence requires a collective approach rather than leaving the entire responsibility on the shoulders of President Bola Tinubu.

Kwam 1 specifically called upon Sunday Adeyemo, well known as Sunday Igboho, alongside the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, to set aside any differences and mobilize local defense structures.

He emphasized that the worsening cases of abductions and rural violence demand a formidable alliance comprising political actors, traditional establishments, formal security agencies, and grassroots defense groups across the South-West.

The Fuji musician further explained that because a Yoruba leader is currently at the helm of national affairs, the stakeholders within the region must ensure that security does not collapse during this dispensation.

He urged Igboho and Adams to rally traditional warriors, the Agbekoya group, and local hunters across various Yoruba sub-regions—including Ijebu, Ijesha, Ekiti, Ife, Egba, and Lagos—to directly confront the ongoing security threats.

Kwam 1 stressed that the deployment of all available local mechanisms, whether physical or traditional, has become necessary to restore absolute peace to the zone.

In a parallel development, another prominent Fuji star, Abass Akande Obesere, pushed a similar narrative through an open video appeal posted on his Instagram account on Thursday night.

Obesere directed his message squarely at the presidency, urging the federal government to maximize its constitutional powers to crush the activities of bandits, terrorists, and armed robbers who are holding communities hostage.
