Businesswoman Dies Hours After Undergoing Six Cosmetic Procedures

A 51-year-old businesswoman died hours after undergoing six cosmetic procedures during one operation in Brazil.

Andreia Vieira Gaspar lived in Spain and travelled to Goiânia, Brazil, for the surgery.

According to information reviewed by Ibynews.com, Andreia had reportedly saved money for about two years before paying R$118,000 for the procedures.

The operation took place on August 11, 2026. It reportedly began at about 8:10am and ended around 4:20pm.

The procedures included a deep facelift, forehead surgery, chin surgery, upper eyelid surgery, neck liposuction and facial fat grafting.

Andreia’s family claimed she did not meet the surgeon in person before the day of the operation. They said earlier communication and medical assessments took place remotely.

After the surgery, Andreia was moved to a regular hospital room. Her family said her tongue became badly swollen and she struggled to close her mouth.

Her condition reportedly worsened during the night. She experienced breathing difficulties before suffering cardiac arrest.

Doctors tried to revive her, but she died at about 4:15am on August 12.

A post-mortem examination reportedly identified acute coronary thrombosis, pulmonary infarctions and haemorrhagic secretion.

Andreia’s family has accused the medical team and hospital of negligence. They also questioned why she was not placed in an intensive care unit after the long operation.

The hospital rejected claims that Andreia did not receive proper attention. Its representatives said emergency care began immediately after her condition became unstable.

The surgeon expressed his condolences and said he would cooperate with investigators. He declined to discuss Andreia’s medical information publicly.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Goiás has requested a police investigation into possible involuntary manslaughter. No criminal responsibility has been established.

The investigation remains ongoing, according to Brazilian reports.
