BREAKING: Report: Arsenal Offered Chance To Sign £43m Winger After Manchester United Approach

Arsenal have emerged as potential suitors for AC Milan winger Rafael Leao, with the Portuguese forward’s representatives reportedly making contact with the north London club to explore a possible summer transfer as reported by Metro on Thursday June 4, 2026.

The development follows an initial approach from Manchester United, though it is Galatasaray who have shown the strongest desire to secure the 26-year-old’s signature.

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Leao’s own preference is a move to the Premier League, which has prompted his camp to open discussions with Mikel Arteta’s side.

Leao has made no secret of his wish to depart the San Siro this summer following AC Milan’s failure to secure Champions League football for next season.

The winger contributed nine league goals and three assists in Serie A last term but believes the time has come to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere.

Speaking recently, Leao reflected warmly on his time in Milan while leaving little doubt about his intentions. “I think I gave Milan everything I could give. It is a club that helped me grow a lot,” he said, before adding, “I want to try a new challenge in a new league.”

AC Milan have indicated a willingness to sanction a sale, though they are holding firm on a valuation of approximately £43 million, with two years still remaining on his current deal.

Whether Arsenal will meet that asking price remains to be seen, particularly with competition from other clubs continuing to grow.

Leao is currently on international duty with Portugal, who face DR Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia in World Cup qualifying Group K.
