Senator Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South Senatorial District, has renewed his call for improved welfare and better remuneration for members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, arguing that soldiers continue to make enormous sacrifices in the fight against insurgency and other security threats despite the dangers they face.

Ndume made the remarks during an interview aired on Trust TV on Friday, June 26, 2026, while discussing the country’s security challenges and the need to strengthen support for military personnel serving in conflict zones.

According to the senator, Nigeria’s battle against insurgency and other forms of insecurity cannot be won through military operations alone.
