ASNAT hails Tinubu’s APC ticket, pledges 176,846 polling units support for 2027

The Association of Nigerian Artisans and Technicians (ASNAT) has officially extended its heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on his resounding victory at the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primary, where he emerged as the party’s flagbearer for his second term bid.

In a statement signed and released by ASNAT’s Head of New Media, Abdulkadir Salihu (IBN), the Association commended the President for the bold economic and social reforms initiated during his tenure, which have laid a foundation for structural transformation in Nigeria.

“While we acknowledge that the nation has not yet reached the Promised Land, we remain steadfast in our belief that through his Renewed Hope Agenda, God will grant him the wisdom and strength to achieve greater national development,” the statement read.

“Despite our unwavering support, we must candidly state that Nigerian artisans and technicians have faced significant challenges over the past three years, as various government agencies and parastatals tasked with our welfare have largely failed in their mandates. However, we have benefited directly and indirectly from other programmes and projects initiated by President Tinubu’s administration. These include: the new tax reforms which have completely exempted artisans and other small businesses with an annual gross turnover of ₦100 million or less and fixed assets not exceeding ₦250 million from Companies Income Tax (CIT) and other taxes. No more 4% development levy, no more Capital Gains Tax (CGT), and no more Value Added Tax (VAT) for artisans and technicians. Student loans through NELFUND are seriously helping Nigerian parents, and Nigerian artisans who are parents are also benefiting from this laudable and timely intervention by this President. The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway constructions are rapidly progressing, and we know that when these two gigantic roads are completed, Nigerian artisans and technicians will be major beneficiaries,” the statement added.

While congratulating the President, the body of Nigerian artisans and technicians stressed their commitment to President Tinubu’s vision and pledged their full support for his re-election, mirroring the solidarity they demonstrated in 2023. They noted that their network across the 176,846 polling units nationwide remains committed to the Renewed Hope vision.

“But we have one advice and admonition for the President as he prepares for the next phase of his administration: we strongly advise him to exercise extreme caution and diligence in selecting the team of aides and officials, particularly Heads of MDAs and DGs of Parastatals who will work with him in his second term, to ensure that the significant failures of this first term are not repeated. Nigeria is going through a crucial and critical transformative phase, and so the President will need loyal, competent, and patriotic hands to consolidate the gains made and deliver the true dividends of democracy to the grassroots,” the statement concluded.
