African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, Omoyele Sowore, has raised concerns over the manner in which he was conveyed to the Kuje Correctional Centre after a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered his remand in connection with an ongoing legal dispute involving the Department of State Services (DSS).
The activist and former presidential candidate was remanded following court proceedings linked to statements he allegedly made about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The case centers on remarks in which Sowore referred to the President as a “criminal,” a statement that subsequently became the subject of legal action.
During the proceedings, the Federal High Court directed that Sowore be held at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending further hearings in the matter. The court’s decision followed arguments presented by the parties involved in the case, which is expected to continue at a later date.
