Woman Dies After Bungee Jumping Safety Failure in Brazil Sparks Investigation

A tragic rope jumping accident in Brazil has led to an investigation after a 21-year-old woman fell from an abandoned bridge during an organized jump.

Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas reportedly fell about 130 feet in Limeira when her safety cord was allegedly not attached before the jump.

A nurse, Rayza Dias, who was nearby, rushed to the scene and said the victim was still alive for a short time despite suffering severe injuries. She added that emergency responders worked under difficult conditions to try to save her.
