According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Channels Television on Sunday, June 21, 2026, former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, blamed the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West on what he described as attempts by some leaders to control party structures across states.
Fayose specifically criticized former Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, alleging that efforts to dictate party affairs outside his state had negative consequences. He maintained that political leaders should respect existing structures and avoid actions capable of creating conflicts among stakeholders.
