WATCH VIDEO: B2 Stealth Bomber Fly-By Stuns Miami F1 Grand Prix Crowd

A fly-by by a US B-2 stealth bomber over the Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix has drawn attention, coming amid confirmation of recent American strikes on targets in Iran. Videos shared on social media showed the aircraft passing over the circuit shortly before the start of the race.

The B-2 bombers have been used in military operations targeting underground facilities linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to two US officials, the aircraft dropped 30,000lb GBU-57 bombs, also known as Massive Ordnance Penetrators, on a deeply buried compound. One official said the site was destroyed and that several IRGC members were killed. The same type of bomb had previously been used against Iranian nuclear facilities last year.

The Pentagon has also confirmed that B-2 bombers were deployed in strikes on Iran’s underground ballistic missile infrastructure, as tensions in the region have escalated.

A US defence official told Fox News that the long-range aircraft flew directly from the United States to Iran, dropping multiple 2,000lb bombs on missile launchers concealed in fortified underground locations.

In a statement posted on social media, US Central Command said: “Last night, US B-2 stealth bombers, armed with 2,000 lb. bombs, struck Iran’s hardened ballistic missile facilities. No nation should ever doubt America’s resolve.”

The B-2 Spirit is designed to evade radar detection and carry out precision strikes against heavily fortified targets. It has a range of around 6,000 nautical miles without refuelling, which can be extended through aerial tanking, allowing missions to be conducted over long distances without landing.

Analysts monitoring military flight activity had earlier identified movements consistent with B-2 deployments before officials confirmed that four aircraft were involved. Similar bombers were used during the 2025 conflict between Israel and Iran.

US President Donald Trump has posted a video on social media showing one of the strikes, writing that Iranian military leaders had been “terminated” in what he described as a “massive strike in Tehran”.
