Veteran Actor Baba Elesho Explains Why He Consulted His Wife Before Bringing His Mother Home

Veteran Nollywood actor Adewale Elesho Adeoye, popularly known as Baba Elesho, has stirred conversations online after revealing that his wife is the head of his family.

The actor made the disclosure during an interview while recounting a personal experience involving his mother, who had been battling an eye condition for several years.

According to him, his mother had been living with one of his younger siblings during the period. Although she was not staying with him, he said he continued to support her and regularly checked on her wellbeing.

Recalling a visit to his mother, Baba Elesho said he discovered she was unhappy with her living arrangement and wanted to leave.

“The day I went to bring her from my younger sibling’s home, I had gone there to check on her and perform my duty as a son. My mum said she would rather be thrown into the sea than remain where she was because she wasn’t comfortable there.”

Following the conversation, the actor decided to take his mother to Lagos. However, upon arriving home, he revealed that he left her in the car while he went upstairs to speak with his wife first.

“It was on Sunday, I went upstairs to meet my wife, prostrated and told her I had a visitor. She asked who, I replied Alhaja.”

According to him, his wife wanted to know why she had not been informed earlier, prompting him to explain the circumstances behind his mother’s arrival.

“She asked what happened and I explained everything. I told her that my mum said if there was nowhere else to take her, I should throw her into the sea, and that was why I brought her.”

Explaining his decision to speak with his wife before bringing his mother into the house, Baba Elesho said it was important to keep her informed because the situation directly affected their home.

“I came to speak with my wife first because she had to know about it. You own the home and your reactions matter.”

The veteran actor added that mutual respect and understanding are central to the way his family operates.

“My wife is the head of my family,” he stated.
