Trump: You’ll See Him Almost Falling Asleep Talking To Americans, Is Tinubu Talking To You? -Momodu

Media entrepreneur and politician Dele Momodu has questioned President Bola Tinubu’s level of communication with Nigerians, arguing that leadership requires consistent engagement with the public regardless of age.

Speaking during an interview on Nevon HQ, on Tuesday, 7 July, 2026, Momodu compared Tinubu’s public engagement with that of United States President Donald Trump.

He argued that despite Trump’s age and occasional appearance of tiredness during public events, the American leader continues to communicate directly with the people. According to Momodu, Nigerians deserve the same level of accessibility and communication from their president.

Emphasising his point, Momodu said, “If you look at even Donald Trump at his age, sometimes you see him standing there at press conferences and sleeping, but he’s almost falling asleep but he’s speaking to Americans. Is Tinubu talking to you.?”

The veteran journalist maintained that communication is one of the most important responsibilities of any democratic leader. He noted that citizens expect regular explanations on government decisions, the country’s economic direction, and efforts being made to address pressing national challenges.
