According to a report by The Sun on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Ayo Oritsejafor, former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has said that several politicians who once described former President Goodluck Jonathan as “clueless” during his time in office are currently holding key positions of authority in the country.
He noted that despite the change in leadership over the years, Nigeria’s economic and security challenges have continued to worsen rather than improve, raising concerns about governance outcomes since that period.
Oritsejafor made the remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, where he spoke at length about Nigeria’s political developments.
He defended the administration of Goodluck Jonathan, insisting that much of the criticism directed at him while he was in office was unfair and politically motivated.
He argued that the narratives used to describe Jonathan’s leadership at the time have not matched the realities Nigerians are currently experiencing.
