According to him, the state apparatus is heavily focused on musling opposition platforms specifically to prevent Obi from appearing on the ballot.

Reflecting on the political trajectory since the 2023 elections, Awfokansi highlighted that Obi’s massive momentum caught the political establishment completely off guard.

“I came here I said that the only opposition you have in Nigeria is Peter Obi as an individual not even a political party. If you trace the history from his days in Labor party immediately he won the election. It came to them as a surprise because they never knew he will win,” Awfokansi stated, using the colloquial abbreviation for the prominent politician.

The legal practitioner further argued that the post-election fallout and subsequent disclosures have only reinforced the belief among supporters that the 2023 results did not reflect the true choice of the populace.

He added, “He will get the kind of things wave he got during the 2023 election which even now confirmed the letter where he fell out of that it was Peter Obi who won the election. He published the result himself and showed the world.”
