South Africans Killed My Husband Last Year, They Shot Him And Buried Him Like A Chicken -Returnee

Nigerian woman who recently returned from South Africa has recounted the heartbreaking circumstances surrounding the death of her husband, alleging that he was shot and later buried under distressing conditions.

The woman shared her experience during an interview with an Arise News correspondent, following the arrival of Nigerian returnees from South Africa amid growing concerns over xenophobic violence and the safety of foreign nationals living in the country.

According to the returnee, the tragic incident occurred last year while her husband was returning home.

She said: “South Africans killed my husband last year. They shot him and buried him like a chicken one week later.”

The woman explained that her husband was allegedly attacked and fatally shot, leaving their family devastated.

She claimed that after his death, his body remained without burial for about a week. Recalling the experience, she expressed pain over what she described as the undignified manner in which he was eventually laid to rest.

According to her, the situation became even more complicated because of disputes that arose after his death.

She alleged that a South African woman whom her husband had married as part of an arrangement to obtain legal residency documents prevented efforts to have his remains returned to Nigeria.

Reflecting on the loss, the woman described the experience as one of the most painful moments of her life.
