Nigerian singer Skales has backed up his colleague, Fave’s claim about female artists being underrated in the music industry.
The singer, while speaking via his X handle, lauded his female colleagues, saying it is not easy to be a woman in the Nigerian music industry.
“Big up all the females in the entertainment industry … it ain’t easy being a woman in this industry … big up to y’all for real,” he wrote.
Fave had earlier claimed that attaining success in the music industry was harder for women than men. She stated that female artists are mostly judged not only by their talent but also by their sex appeal.
“When Tems, I and Ayra Starr came into the scene, we came with different voices that were different from the very feminine voice people were used to. Before us, female artistes used to sing in a very feminine way,” she claimed.
