Serious Fight Erupts As NPP Youths Block Agya Koo’s “The Base” Team From Campaigning In Asante Akyem South

Tension has erupted in the Asante Akyem South constituency after New Patriotic Party youth reportedly prevented veteran Ghanaian actor and political figure Kofi Adu, popularly known as Agya Koo, from campaigning in the area as part of his “The Base” political team’s outreach activities.

The incident, which occurred at Obugu, saw NPP supporters confront and stop the team from proceeding with their campaign activities, in scenes that have since circulated on social media under the caption “Asante Akyem South NPP Reaffirms Grassroots Control As The Base Team Is Stopped At Obugu.”

The confrontation highlights growing tensions within opposition NPP circles as various factions and aligned groups compete for influence at the grassroots level ahead of future electoral contests.

Agya Koo, who has been increasingly visible in political circles through his association with The Base, has not issued a public statement on the incident at the time of publication.

The NPP has not officially commented on the actions of its youth members in blocking the campaign team.
