Sailors on a Russian frigate fired warning shots at a yacht in the Channel, PA Media reports

LONDON, June 16 – Sailors on board a Russian frigate fired warning shots at a civilian yacht in the Channel that came near it, Britain’s PA Media reported on Tuesday.

Britain’s Ministry of Defence did not immediately have a comment.

On Sunday, British commandos boarded and intercepted a sanctioned Russian shadow fleet oil tanker in the Channel, leading for the first time an operation to disrupt the oil revenue that helps fund Russia’s war in Ukraine.

In a separate release published on Monday the Navy said two British vessels had shadowed the Russian frigate Admiral Grigorovich in the Channel, west of Brest in France. REUTERS
