Sagamu interchange signals FG’s push on road infrastructure — Onanuga

Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga has described the Sagamu Interchange as a clear sign of the Federal Government’s renewed focus on modern road infrastructure.

In a post shared on his official X handle on Monday, Onanuga said the project reflects ongoing efforts under the Renewed Hope agenda to improve Nigeria’s transport network. He pointed to the interchange’s night view as evidence of steady progress in upgrading key roads across the country.

According to him, the project is designed to ease traffic congestion, improve safety on major highways, and support economic activities by making movement faster and more reliable.

The Sagamu Interchange, located in Ogun State, serves as a major link between different parts of the country. It connects key routes in the South-West and provides access to other regions, making it an important point for both commuters and businesses.

Onanuga noted that the development shows the government’s commitment to strengthening critical infrastructure needed for national growth. He added that better road networks would help trade, reduce travel time, and improve overall connectivity.

The spokesman maintained that projects like the Sagamu Interchange are part of a broader plan to modernise Nigeria’s transport system and support long-term economic development.

He said the government would continue to invest in infrastructure that delivers direct benefits to citizens and supports movement across major economic corridors.
