King Charles finally had his reunion with his son Prince Harry; however, the drama that trailed the duke’s U.K. trip is said to have rubbed the monarch the wrong way.

Buckingham Palace had to withdraw an offer for his accommodation ahead of the trip after he stalled in responding, but his team claimed his court case might have played a role in the decision.

Despite the standoff, King Charles was eventually able to meet his youngest grandchildren for the first time in four years.

Harry’s actions in the buildup to his U.K. trip could prove to be a very costly mistake, according to new reports.

Ahead of his trip, the Duke of Sussex was offered a royal lodge to stay at by his father, but delayed accepting it before Buckingham Palace awkwardly rescinded the offer, per the BBC.

His team later explained in a statement that he’d been sorting out security arrangements for the trip after RAVEC denied his request for police protection, and after that, he was going to accept the offer.

However, they added in the statement that it was “disappointing that the offer has been withdrawn… at the last moment,” a statement that is now understood to have angered the ruling monarch.

They also claimed that Buckingham Palace was aware of the ruling in his case against Associated Newspapers Limited, and that could have been a factor in their decision to withdraw the offer, as it compromises the king’s constitutional position.

The situation seemingly prompted Charles to consider cutting him out of his will and life for good.

“Harry’s behavior in the lead-up to, and during, his recent visit to the U.K. was almost the final straw for Charles,” an insider told New Idea. “He’s been Harry’s last remaining champion, of sorts, in the royal family, but after recent events, even Charles has had enough.”

According to a report, another source explained that the accommodation ordeal left the King feeling bruised as Harry kept going back and forth about whether his children would come along.

“Courtiers are saying Charles [could] cut Harry out of the will,” the insider noted, adding that Harry “will be devastated” and “totally blindsided” if Charles goes on with it.

“Charles is over the drama and chaos around Harry,” the insider explained. “He never wanted it to come to this, but now it’s so serious; Harry’s inheritance could even be on the line.”

The relationship between father and son is only recently proving to be seeing the light, especially after Harry’s past trip to the U.K. to see Charles following his cancer diagnosis.

Sources close to the duke claimed that the meeting had left him feeling “buoyed, very happy, and really energized,” per The Times.

However, his comment after losing his court case against Associated Newspapers Limited was said to have also left the palace in shock.

At the time, Harry and Baroness Lawrence released a joint statement that seemingly attacked the British legal system, calling the judge, Mr Justice Nicklin’s ruling “a complete and obvious whitewash but sadly not altogether unexpected.”

“There were jaws on the floor with a statement attacking not just a High Court judge but the entire judicial system that acts in the King’s name. There is profound upset constitutionally about that attack,” a source said.

However, despite claims he was put off by Harry’s behavior ahead of his recent UK visit, reports claim Harry will be given a room in Buckingham Palace to stay in for his next visit.

So far, neither Harry nor Buckingham Palace has officially confirmed this new claim about accommodation.

“I thought it would have perhaps eased a little bit by now, to be honest,” an insider told People. “But there has been no movement, especially on William’s side. There is no contact.”
