The Presidency has criticised former Anambra State Governor and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, following his recent media interview.

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, took to his verified X account on Wednesday to react to Obi’s appearance on a programme hosted by journalist Oseni Rufai.

Bwala questioned Obi’s performance during the interview, claiming the former presidential candidate struggled to articulate his plans despite being asked what he described as favourable questions.

According to Bwala, Obi failed to provide convincing answers, particularly when discussing solutions to Nigeria’s electricity challenges.

During the interview, Obi declined to disclose specific strategies he would adopt to address the country’s persistent power supply problems if elected president.

He, however, stated that he would engage in dialogue and negotiations with agitators across different regions of the country as part of efforts to tackle insecurity and national tensions.

The exchange has sparked reactions on social media, with supporters of both political figures debating the substance of Obi’s interview and Bwala’s remarks.

Obi has yet to officially respond to the Presidency’s criticism.
